We have added new classes and new instructors to our schedule this fall and want to introduce you to two new smiling faces you’ll see leading spin and yoga.

Megan Parkinson

After graduating from Wake Forest, Megan’s first job was in Investment Banking here in Charlotte – a fast-paced, yet sedentary lifestyle. In 2007 she decided to get moving and signed up for Team in Training. While fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Megan completed her first two Olympic distance triathlons and she was hooked! Since then Megan has completed over 30 triathlons. Most recently she successfully crossed the finish line of her first Ironman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Her extensive experience with triathlons influence her teaching style. Don’t be surprised if she brings some of her Ironman workouts indoors!

Outside of triathlons, Megan just completed her MBA at University of Denver and is now working in IT sales. She and her fiance recently relocated back to Charlotte from Denver. She’s thrilled to be on board with the Metro Team and looks forward to seeing you on Monday nights at 6:30 for spin!

After trying yoga off and on through the years in various gym settings and getting a peek at the physical and mental benefits, Jennifer’s new year’s resolution in 2011 was to try yoga in a studio. What started primarily as a physical practice quickly became much more. It became her escape from her frequently high-stress day job and the constant fast-paced life we live. Jenn realized it was the one time a day she wasn’t stressed, or worrying about her to-do list or what she “should” be doing.

Jenn completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2013 with Johnna Smith and Tanner Bazemore. She has attended master classes and workshops with Bryan Kest and Tiffany Cruikshank. This is just the beginning of her yoga journey and Jenn shares, “I hope to always be a student and share what I learn with my students.”

You can catch Jenn’s power yoga class on Monday evenings at 6. All levels are welcome…even those who have never rolled out a yoga mat but are looking for a way to feel better and less stressed.
